An elegant late 19th century French bracelet worked in 18K yellow gold and silver. The links are formed as swirl of foliage set with 121 rose cut diamonds and are separated by 11 larger collet-set old mine cut diamonds, each approximately .23 carat. These larger diamonds are H-I color and VVS2 to SI1 clarity. The links are fully articulated so the bracelet is very comfortable to wear. As is typical of jewelry from the period, the top surface is worked in silver to enhance the color of the diamonds while the structure all parts that touch the skin are worked in gold. Jewels of this period were intended to be seen by candlelight, and this example is particularly lovely in lower light. The concealed clasp is stamped with the French eagle head mark for 18K gold.
