A fine Victorian tartanware spool thread box decorated in the McDuff tartan. The sycamore box opens to reveal four spindles to hold the thread passed through the eyelets around the sides of the box. The box was made by W & A Smith Boxworks of Mauchline, Scotland.

• Condition: excellent, a couple of very minor scratches along the edge of lid’s tartan
