An elegant Edwardian ring fashioned in 18K gold and platinum featuring a large crystal opal of exaggerated marquise shape surrounded by a halo of old European cut and old mine cut diamonds. The opal has strong play of color, especially in the red and orange parts of spectrum, but also with significant green against a fully translucent N9 body color. The diamonds, graded I color and VS1 clarity, are set in millgrained platinum collets. The underside of the gallery is enhanced with foliate engraved decoration The shank is stamped with French 18K hallmarks.
